Complete Blood Cell Count – The Complete Blood Count, commonly called a “CBC” is a routine blood test that is used in all stages of health and illness. It is a simple test that gives information about the different cell types in the blood and can indicate the presence of many forms of disease.
Chemistry Profile – A chemistry profile is a screen for how well the individual organs are functioning and indicates the presence of disease. Abnormal results suggest systemic disorders such as diabetes, kidney disease, pancreatitis and liver disease.
Thyroid Hormone Test – This is used to evaluate thyroid gland function.
Hyperthyroidism is a treatable condition seen primarily in cats, but if left undiagnosed it is a potentially fatal disease, especially for older cats. The signs and symptoms of hyperthyroidism include weight loss, increased appetite, restlessness, matted, greasy or poor hair coat, rapid heart rate, increased water consumption, vomiting and diarrhea.
Hypothyroidism is a treatable condition seen primarily in dogs. The signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism include cause weight gain, sluggishness, hair loss, excessive shedding, and recurrent skin conditions.
Urinalysis – Macroscopic and microscopic evaluations are used as an index of kidney function as well as an all-purpose screen for systemic diseases and infections. The presence of blood, crystals, and/or bacteria in the urine may indicate infection, stones or a urinary tract infection.
Parasite Evaluation – This is a microscopic examination of your pet’s feces used to confirm the presence of intestinal parasites, such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms, and giardia. This test can also provide important information about many different kinds of health problems such as internal bleeding, disorders of the pancreas and difficulties with digestion.
